Business Overview

Amanuma, where the performance takes place, was once home to Amanuma Bentenike Pond, the source of the Momozono River that supported people's livelihoods as the region's main agricultural water. With modernization, Benten-ike Pond withered and Momozono-gawa River became a culvert and disappeared. Focusing on the water that has brought blessings to this area for a long time, he created a new kagura featuring Ichikishimahime, who is still loved by the community as Amanuma Benten.
Local elementary and junior high school students created and performed together under the guidance of a professional kagura-sha junior high school, Ishiyama Shachu.

Profile

Tokyo Kagurako Project Executive Committee
Tokyo Children's Kagura was born in 2019. It works with the theme of children learning Japanese history and culture and sending it out to the world.
In fact, there are various legends in Tokyo that have been handed down from generation to generation in each region. In Suginami Ward, where our association is located, the tumultuous history of the Showa period and the subcultural culture after the period of high economic growth often attract attention, but the aim is to let people know about the indigenous culture that dates back to the Jomon period and to have an attachment to the area.
