Business Overview

This project "Outanowa Ozashiki LIVE Project" is a community music project based at "Hyakusai," an old folk house in Higashimurayama. Artists Arisa Yokote and Kazuya Zenzai, who live in Higashimurayama City, take the lead in holding participatory music concerts and workshops, with the aim of creating new connections among participants, mainly local residents, who enjoy creating music and art together, and creating opportunities for regional revitalization. This year, they worked on the Higashimurayama Ondo, and it became a place of exchange to search for a more universal way of performing arts by dancing as well as singing. As the culmination of the event, Outanowa was held with participatory live performances by a diverse group of guests including Eri Liao, Tetsutaro TAKE, Hiroshi HABU and Hiroshi Obiki.

Profile

【 Utanowa 】
It is held irregularly as "a gathering place where people form a circle and are connected by songs" at an old folk house in Higashimurayama. Arisa Yokote and Kazuya Zenzai, artists who live in the city, are taking the lead in creating the place. They aim to create a flat and comfortable tenement like community where adults and children can gather freely, taking inspiration from agricultural songs, lullabies, children's songs, festivals, mourning, bon odori, and all kinds of songs that have been sung with people's lives since ancient times.
