Profile
[Tama River Basin Folk Performing Arts Festival Executive Committee]
The Tama River Basin Folk Performing Arts Festival Executive Committee was established in 2000, the 30 year anniversary of Komae City's establishment, with the Raft Race Executive Committee playing a central role in deepening exchanges between Kosuge Village, Tanbayama Village and Okutama Town in Yamanashi Prefecture through the "Komae Kodai Cup Tama River Raft Race," a summer tradition in Komae. At the Tama River Basin Folk Performing Arts Festival, local performing arts that make use of the characteristics of each participating municipality are presented and introduced, and local specialties are introduced in the form of product exhibitions in an effort to convey the appeal of the region.
