TOKYO FILMeX 2025



Business Overview
The international film festival “TOKYO FILMeX 2025” was held from November 21 to 30, 2025, at Yurakucho Asahi Hall and Human Trust Cinema Yurakucho. The festival introduced 25 feature films to Tokyo audiences, primarily focusing on the latest films by Asian directors that have garnered acclaim at major international film festivals.
In the Competition section, the Grand Prize was awarded to CACTUS PEARS, directed by Rohan Parashuram Kanawade (India). The Special Jury Prize went to the latest film by Japanese director Takuya Uchiyama, titled NUMB. Additionally, DRY LEAF by Georgian director Alexandre Koberidze received a Special Mention. The Audience Award, which covers the entire program, was won by LEFT-HANDED GIRL, directed by Tsou Shih-Ching, which was also featured in the Competition section.
Furthermore, a pre-festival screenings titled "Pioneers of the Hong Kong New Wave: M+ Restored Selection" took place from November 14 to 18 at Human Trust Cinema Yurakucho, showcasing three selected films.
