Musashi Fuchu Local Karuta Championship
Business Overview
The 'Musashi Fuchu Local Karuta Cards' have been distributed to third graders at elementary schools in the city since 1973, but they are no longer used. Through the 'Local Karuta Cards,' parents and children have an interest in the history, culture, and nature of Fuchu, and the children who will be responsible for Fuchu City in the future will have happy memories that will not fade, know about their town, and develop a love of their hometown that they want to preserve the activities and properties of the community for future generations.
Targeting 3rd graders from 22 elementary schools in the city, 2 students from each elementary school were selected in an individual tournament system with the cooperation of after-school children's classes before the final round. The preliminary round for children participating on the day will be held in the morning on the day of the finals. In the final round, individual tournaments were held for the lower and upper grades. We believe that holding familiar karuta tournaments encourages children to enjoy and learn enthusiastically, and by continuing these tournaments every year, more children will develop a love of their hometown.

[Association to Consider the Utilization of Fuchu City's Heritage]
The purpose of this association is to propose to citizens the recognition and utilization of Fuchu's heritage by carrying out activities related to Fuchu's heritage. In order to foster a love of the local area through the use of 'Musashi Fuchu Local Karuta' cards distributed to elementary school students in the city, activities are being carried out mainly to spread awareness of the 'Musashi Fuchu Local Karuta' monuments in various places in the city, to hold study sessions on the Kurayami Festival in Fuchu, to produce picture books, and to promote the city of Fuchu.
