Film documenting the reconstruction of the Noto Peninsula Earthquake "Utsuwa Resorting" (tentative title)



Project Overview
January 1, 2024. A violent earthquake struck the land of Noto, which celebrates the early spring.
Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, the production area of Japan's representative traditional craft "Wajima lacquer", became the epicenter of it.
It was a catastrophe that lost not only lives but also homes, jobs, and property.
When director Minoru Inoue contacted Wajima lacquer craftsman Mitsuhiro Sakashita, who is being interviewed in another work,
Knowing that he has the will to continue working even in the difficult situation of the disaster, he conceived a documentary film.
Started filming with Sakura Film Company, which has been producing documentary films for many years.
One month after the disaster, he continued to pursue the "beauty of use" of Wajima lacquer in the face of adversity
A full-length documentary documentary documenting the appearance of a Wajima lacquer craftsman along with "deliberately" has been completed.
After post-production, the first preview was held only for those involved.
English subtitle version was created and a preview was held.
Created original translations for overseas film festival entries.
Entered 3 overseas film festivals in November ~ December.
