STAGE PRODUCTION: Orb: On the Movements of the Earth

Business Overview
A groundbreaking new stage production has been created, portraying those who are captivated by the truth of the Earth and willing to risk their lives in its pursuit.
“Orb – On the Movement of the Earth –” began serialization in 2020 and quickly gained nationwide popularity. It ranked second in the Manga Taisho 2021 awards and won the Grand Prize at the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, earning widespread critical acclaim.
The stage adaptation is directed by Avshalom Pollak, known in Japan for the musical The Cat That Lived a Million Times and the Hyakki Opera Rashomon. Working alongside playwright Keishi Nagatsuka, he has transformed the manga’s powerful themes into a compelling live theatrical experience.
The production brings together internationally active creators, including composer Umitaro Abe and choreographer Ella Rothschild, along with a cast of uniquely talented performers. Featuring Masataka Kubota, Toko Miura, Yusuke Onuki, Sakura Kiryu, Mitsuru Fukikoshi, Songha, and Mirai Moriyama—actors celebrated not only for their dramatic depth but also for their physical expressiveness—the work transcends a conventional stage adaptation. Through the fusion of physical theater, acting, music, and live performance, a new “Orb” is brought vividly to life on stage.
