"Lakkorta: Creative Materials Lab" for artistic exchange that transcends disabilities

Business Overview
This is a social support program that aims to eliminate isolation and discrimination by bringing together people from diverse backgrounds, including the elderly, people with disabilities, and local residents, through art and deepening mutual understanding. Using the system of "Raccolta: Creative Materials Lab" established in cooperation with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Fuchu City, we held an art workshop using unneeded materials provided by local companies.
Conducted creative activities to expand the five senses through materials at a nursing home operated by Charm Care Corporation. Drawing out residents' memories and self-expression, we created a dialogue that transcends the relationship between caregivers and caregivers. In addition, a study meeting was held by practitioners in the field of welfare, and representatives from Think Happiness Co., Ltd., which provides home-visit nursing and home-care support, and "NPO Cotton House, Friends," which supports welfare and employment of persons with mental disabilities, spoke on the stage. We shared the meaning of social ties, the meaning of living in a community, and the role of culture, and promoted exchanges between different fields and generations. In addition, the artist Saki Rikiishi was invited to participate in a joint production and exhibition on the theme of "gravitational pull" using materials from the SATO dressmaking school, which was closed. Multigenerational participants, including people with disabilities, created an experience of creative expression together.
Through a system that reuses waste materials as creative materials, we promote communication that transcends disabilities, age and attributes. The aim is to increase the number of people with different backgrounds who can interact with each other and use it to realize a symbiotic society.
