The Thread Melts
Business Overview
In this project, a solo exhibition of SHU BROWN, an artist, was held focusing on drawings using heat-melting threads. In this exhibition, the artist considered the creation, release, and rearrangement of territories by repeating the act of cutting and melting threads, taking the concept of “Little Nero ” in Deleuz-Guattari's 1000 Plateaus as a starting point. Taking it as a minute opportunity to touch the inexplicability of others, I examined whether strong words can be a clue to search for a landscape that opens up to the next possibility when they simplify the world and drive someone out.

【SHU BROWN】
忘却と蓄積が繰り返される中で、自身の心の機微を見つめながら揺らぎの根源を探り、それがどのような社会的条件と結びつくのかを紐解こうとしている。その過程で生み出されるドローイングやセルフポートレートを媒介として、他者や世界にどのように触れることができるのか、その手触りを探る試みを重ねている。
東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科 修士課程 グローバルアートプラクティス専攻 在学中。主な受賞歴に、CAF賞2022（岩渕貞哉審査員賞）、多摩美術大学卒業制作展2025 優秀作品など。
