Minorite × vocal concert initium "Shikyoku-yoiru Sonoritee"

Business Overview
A joint project of the chamber orchestra Minorite and the chamber choir vocalconcert initium, "Shikyo - Sonorité in Response" pursued a sense of unity that transcended the boundary between instrumental and vocal music, and advocated the diversity of contemporary music and its forms, from performances to theatrical works, chamber music, and chamber concertos.
The themes of the programme ranged from coincidence, religion, identity, cultural exchange between East and West, poetry and language, and included works by contemporary composers, including new works by John Cage, Philip Elsan, Jonathan Harvey, Betsy Jorath, Yuzuru Kondo, Jun Kawasaki and Naoki Sakata. Among them, Naoki SAKATA's works focused on the waka poems of OTOMO no Yakamochi (revised new work) and Shikishi no Uchichika (commissioned new work), and his audience was deeply impressed by the metamorphosis of Japanese classical literature into modern music beyond the framework of Western music.
