Business Overview

10 works from 10 countries (including International Puppet Slam) and works from 14 domestic groups were presented. He presented the diverse present of techniques and methodologies specific to puppetry, including object theater, shadow pictures, and modern reinterpretations of traditional puppetry. For children and families, there was a double set of shadow pictures (for ages 5 and up), 1 picture for ages 8 and up, 2 pictures for ages 10 and up, and free performances for children and parents by Matija Soltze were held for 2 days. It also held a video screening event to support puppeteers in Gaza promoted by UNIMA to show solidarity with the international puppetry community. A variety of programs other than performances were also held, including talks and impromptu performances at the festival center.

Deku Art Forum is a non-profit organization established to promote the development of puppetry arts in Japan and the world by promoting international exchange of performing arts centered on puppetry. The purpose of this program is to provide creative support for puppetry in the fields of both research and practice, such as providing information on overseas puppetry, providing linguistic and production support for domestic puppetry troupes to participate in overseas performances and festivals, planning and producing overseas puppetry performances and festivals in Japan, and holding international conferences and lectures on puppetry art.
