Business Overview

Project team NEMO, led by dancer and choreographer Moeka Kihara, performed a total of 5 performances of music and dance called Circo de NEMO – Former Movie Theater – at a former movie theater in Arakawa Ward in the spring of 2026.

For this performance, he collaborated with lighting artist Ei Matsumoto and utilized the unique structure of the theater, such as the skylight and loft, which closed about 30 years ago. A dancer (Terunobu Osaki,Kazuhito Tsuruga,Miyu Motegi, Kihara) and a performer (Asuka Takeuchi,Fumika Namba) composed a performance utilizing the space under the direction of Kihara for choreography and Rei Munakata for composition.

Prior to this performance, she has been conducting research in Japan and overseas on the theme of "location" since 2025. Through joint projects in Sweden and showings at Denchu Hirakushi House and Atelier (Taito Ward), they have sought to combine elements that change according to the environment with universal elements. Through the creation in these multiple locations, this performance brought back memories of the place.
