Business Overview
American tour of dance works choreographed by Umeda Hiroaki.
The solo work "assimilating" performed by Umeda and the group work "Moving State 1" performed by 4 dancers of Somatic Field Project toured 5 cities in America.
In the tour destinations, I had the opportunity to interact with the local people from various angles, not only through the performance, but also through workshops on the Dotai Method, a movement method developed by Umeda, talks after the performance, and talks at a university class on Japanese culture.

Since 2002, his choreographed works have been invited to perform in more than 150 cities in 40 countries around the world, including the Chaillot National Theatre in Paris.
He offers choreographed works commissioned by companies and festivals around the world, including the Gothenburg Opera and Dance Company and the L.A. Dance Project.
His works include not only choreography and dance, but also sound, video and lighting design. In recent years, he has also created installations focusing on the physical sensation. His video works have been shown at festivals around the world, including 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT and NTT InterCommunication Center [ICC].
He worked as a choreographer for Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Building 1 for 2 years from 2022.
