vocalconsort initium; 11th concert: Deep in Inori



Business Overview
The vocalconcert initium held its 11 th concert "Deep Inori" at Toyosu Civic Center Hall (Tokyo).
With Christian music, the central theme of Western choral art, as the focus, the program is designed to reconsider the reality of Inori.
In the first half, the two works "Ave Maria" by Toshio Hosokawa and Yui Katata, based on the same text, are performed together with "Namidaha" by Yuta Miyake and "Im Abendrot" by Mahler/Gottwald.
In the latter half of the performance, the theater piece "Regarding the Universe" by Minamio SHIBATA, which integrates into one sound space the prayers of the Hidden Christians of Ikitsuki Island in Nagasaki Prefecture, from "Oressha" to the prayers of various ethnic groups, was performed by Kota YANAGISHIMA and 43 singers using the whole hall including the audience seats.
All seats were sold out five days before the performance, and about 280 people attended.

【vocalconsort initium】
A professional chamber choir in Tokyo founded in 2015 by chorus conductors Tani Iku and Yanagishima Kota, who studied in Europe. Initium means "beginning" in Latin. He has held 11 independent performances in Tokyo.
In 2019, she won the first prize in the room chorus section of the 2nd Tokyo International Choral Competition. He also plans to commission Japanese composers to perform for the first time.
In the autumn of 2027, they were invited to the Stunde der Kirchenmusik Church in Stuttgart for the first time as a Japanese choir and planned to tour Germany.
