Business Overview

While dealing with environmental and social issues through photography, he held a solo exhibition as an attempt to explore the nature and relationship created by the medium of photography. “Observation of Disappearing Things, ” an installation of photographs whose images disappear with time without fixing processing, and“ Bankei, ” an exhibition using archived photographs, brought to light paradoxically the nature of “fixing ” inherent in photographs, and asked how photographs can be circulated and used unconsciously under the condition of being unsigned and recordable.

【 Maki Hayashida 】
Born in 1984, visual artist. Through a combination of archival, fieldwork, and darkroom experiments, this project investigates social and environmental issues related to human consumption activities, weaves together fiction and subjective speculation, and develops them into photographic works and installations. Through this practice, he is reconsidering the impact of human beings on nature and also looking at the problems of photographic media. In recent years, he has been working on photographic techniques using plants and natural materials, questioning the materiality and reproducibility of photographic media in the digital age. Graduated from the London College of Communication MA Photography in 2023.
