A floating shape, Hikarukoe

Business Overview
Held his solo exhibition "Floating Sukatachi, Hikarukoe" at DJURGARDEN in Morishita, Koto-ku, Tokyo. In this exhibition, we focused on perception before we recognized objects as images and shapes, and explored how we perceive the outside world using light, reflection, bodily sensations, changes in matter, and memories as clues. Works using different materials and techniques were exhibited, including stone carvings, film-shaped drawings made from hardened vegetable fibers, images using optical equipment, and animation.
During the exhibition, artist Nobuhiro Shimura, condensed matter researcher Akihiko Ikeda, photobiologist Keiichi Kojima, and sculptor Kazutaka Oishi were invited to give a total of three talk events. With themes such as seeing and memory, the relationship between magnetism and matter, and the evolution of photoreception and the eye, the participants engaged in dialogue from different perspectives of art and science.
He also produced a booklet containing the exhibition scenes, records of the production process, drawings, and contributions by the speakers. Photograph by ITO Yoshitaka; booklet design by KUROSE Mitsuhiko

Born in 1998 in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Based on natural observations and fieldwork, this project explores the shapes of signs and sensations that people are supposed to be feeling outside their consciousness through the touch of materials such as stone, iron sand, plant fibers, and images.
Creating begins with encountering things that cannot be captured in an instant, such as the process of forming the shape of organisms and landforms, or the afterimage of light when looking at a landscape.
