With the aim of creating an environment in which anyone can experience and participate in local arts and culture, as well as revitalizing and promoting local communities through arts and culture, the Government will support arts and culture activities that promote the cultivation and development of the distinctive culture of each region in Tokyo, as well as efforts to pass down the cultural assets and resources of each region to the future and disseminate their attractiveness both inside and outside the region.

The program covers public art and cultural activities in Tokyo (Performances, exhibitions, art projects, etc.).
(1)Intangible Folk Cultural Property Utilization Project
Artistic and cultural activities that contribute to the stable succession of Tokyo's intangible folk cultural properties (designated, selected, and registered by the national or local government) by publicizing them
* Please note that only "intangible folk cultural properties" are eligible, not "intangible cultural properties."
(2)Projects for Utilizing Tangible Cultural Properties (Buildings) and Historic Buildings
Art and culture activities that enhance the appeal of tangible cultural properties (buildings) in Tokyo (designated, selected, and registered by the national or local governments) and historical buildings in Tokyo
(3) Regional Cultural Resource Utilization Project
An art and cultural activity that discovers the cultural resources of a specific area in Tokyo and makes them take root in the area. In addition, arts and culture activities that utilize cultural resources already established in the region to pass on and develop them
(4) Project for creating local cultural attractions
Artistic and cultural activities in Tokyo in which local people participate and enhance the cultural attractiveness of the region
* General festivals and events organized by neighborhood and shopping associations are not eligible.

Application Category/Maximum Application Amount
[Category 1: Up to 500,000 yen]
- The amount of subsidy must be 500,000 yen or less (there is no lower limit).
- You can apply for the first project.
- Up to 1/2 of the subsidized expenses will be subsidized.
[Category 2: Up to 2 million yen]
- The amount of subsidy application must be over 500,000 yen and not more than 2 million yen.
- Category 2 targets projects in which a large number of people (1,000 or more) can come into contact with and participate in local arts and culture.
- The applicant group must have hosted the same project in the same area at least once.
- Up to 1/2 of the subsidized expenses will be subsidized.
*As of FY 2025, all consumption tax and local consumption tax will not be eligible for subsidies. Please be careful.
