In fiscal 2024, the Arts Council Tokyo established the Tokyo Arts and Culture Appreciation Support Program in cooperation with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government with the aim of creating a symbiotic society in which anyone can experience art and culture. This subsidy requires the participation in a course to learn the know-how of effective support according to disabilities, etc., and supports the actual cost of up to 1.5 million yen for efforts aimed at improving accessibility for viewers and participants. Taking the World Athletics and Deaflympics to be held this fall as a good opportunity, we have established a new "2025 Momentum Building" quota of up to 3 million yen in conjunction with the "All Welcome Tokyo" campaign to build momentum for improving accessibility, which will be held from September to December, mainly around the time of the World Athletics and Deaflympics Games.
As the first step, 32 organizations were selected for the project (40,414,165 yen in total). Please refer to the list of selected projects below for details. Decisions on projects for the 2025 Momentum Building Block are scheduled for early August. Applications for this subsidy will be accepted at any time, and applications will be closed when the total amount decided to be granted reaches the budget.
