In order to strengthen the creation and transmission of culture from Tokyo in the field of cinema, we will provide opportunities to build know-how and international networks to be active in the world with the aim of fostering "Talent (=Talents, Talents)" who have the potential to become the next generation of masters. Young people from Asia who aspire to become film directors and producers will be invited to Tokyo, and we will hold lectures and joint reviews with professionals active worldwide in the fields of director, producer, and world sales.
This project started in Tokyo in 2010 as the only Asian version of the Berlinale Talents held as part of the Berlin International Film Festival. It has produced many Asian filmmakers who are active on the world stage, and its achievements as a human resource development project are attracting attention around the world.
This program, which is now in its 17 th year, invites young Asian filmmakers and producers to Tokyo, and provides them with the know-how and opportunities to build networks to be active in the world as filmmakers through workshops lasting about 1 week, including lectures by front-line professionals such as those involved in the Berlin International Film Festival, and presentations to filmmakers. In addition, as a pre-event for this project, we will continue to hold screenings in fiscal 2025 to widely publicize the achievements of graduates. I will let you know the details later.
