The "Social Grant" program implemented by Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture Arts Council Tokyo supports artistic activities where people from various social environments can participate together, respect each other's individuality, and express creativity, as well as activities that leverage the characteristics of arts and culture to tackle various social and urban issues. It aims to support pioneering activities that raise new significance for arts and culture in society and promote an open art approach to everyone, as well as activities that steadily contribute to solving issues with a long-term perspective. In fiscal year 2026, we will focus on supporting projects that help children reduce disparities in art appreciation and experiential opportunities.
We have now decided on the target projects for the first Social Grant of fiscal year 2026.
This term, out of 93 applications, 14 were selected (acceptance rate 15.1%). The total planned grant amount is 22,486 thousand yen.
