Date and Time
Sunday, August 30, 2026 13:00~15:00
Venue
House in Nakamachi
29 -1 Senju Nakacho, Adachi-ward, Tokyo 120 0036
A 10 minute walk from JR Kita-Senju Station

At metote-lab, people who speak in visual language take the lead in archiving (recording) language and culture. As part of this, this time we will hold a home video viewing event at a house in Nakamachi.

What images come to mind when you hear the word home video?
Home video isn't just about your family. Records of events, gatherings, and activities spent with community members are included, as are important daily moments with people you have met throughout your life.

This time, Adachi Deaf Association is planning to provide a home video filled with the history and memories of the association.
While watching the video together, let's have a fun rediscovery through dialogue about the interaction with friends and activities left in the video, the life culture and the background of the moment.
Sign language interpretation is available, so everyone is welcome. Please feel free to apply!

About metote-lab
" metote-lab" is a laboratory led mainly by deaf people, hard-of-hearing people, and CODA (hearers with deaf parents) who speak visual language (Japanese Sign Language), aiming to create a place (home) for emergence based on each individual's senses and language.
The concept is "to create new circuits and expressions of connection starting from myself." We bring simple questions together, communicate with our eyes and hands, explore our own expressions, and seek opportunities and spaces where people with different bodily sensations and ways of thinking, and between people and expressions, can meet.

* This project is conducted as part of the "Art and Chiiki Project."
