Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture Arts Council Tokyo has been implementing the "TOKYO CITY CANVAS Grant" since fiscal year 2024 as part of the "TOKYO CITY CANVAS" project led by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
This grant will support part of the expenses for art projects that create more attractive spaces and new urban landscapes by utilizing temporary fences at construction sites in central Tokyo. Additionally, there will be additional actual cost support for art design production costs for artists' creations (with a maximum amount).
By supporting private sector activities, we aim to create an environment where everyone can enjoy art close to home, while also contributing to the creation of new attractions in cities.
We held a review committee for one project that received applications during the first phase of the public application period (June 23, 2026 ~ July 28, 2026), and none were selected.
Additionally, the second fiscal year 2026 recruitment is scheduled for November 2026.
