About the Dutch Festival

The Dutch Festival is the largest international performing arts festival in the Netherlands and one of the oldest in Europe. It was established in 1947 and will be held for the 79th time in 2026. Held in and around Amsterdam every June, the festival showcases innovative performing arts, both indoor and outdoor, in a variety of formats, from large to small. Since 2019, each year we have invited an international artist with a broad perspective and cross-disciplinary practice as an “Associate Artist ” to contribute to the programming of works and to present their own and collaborative works. The 2026 Associate Artist is Hidur Gudnadottir, a composer, musician and singer from Iceland.
