We will hold a kick-off event prior to the "International Conference 2026 where everyone can connect through culture." Artists and researchers on the theme of "culture living together" with the sea, mountains, and land will talk about their thoughts and feelings on a daily basis. We will pass on to the plenary session the empirical rules and knowledge that expand the assumptions for future well-being.
* Multispecies ... The view that not only humans but also animals, plants, fungi and all other species are intertwined to make up the world.

Speaker Profile
Born in Tokyo in 1977. He completed the doctoral course of the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. With an interest in anthropology and folklore, he travels to various environments, from cities to remote areas, and continues to photograph. He won Ken Domon Award for "CORONA" (Seidosha Publishing Co., Ltd.) in 2011, and Author Award of the Photographic Society of Japan for "Marebito" (Shogakukan Publishing Co., Ltd.) and "EVEREST" (CCC Media House Co., Ltd.) in 2020. In 2023, he received the Higashikawa Prize for Special Writers. His latest books include "Shisha Panma" (Heibonsha), "K2" (Shogakukan), and "Saigo no yama" (Mt. Saigo) (Shinchosha).

Speaker Profile
After studying native art, painting, and sculpture at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, she completed a graduate degree in regional design at Tohoku University of Art and Technology. Stayed in Norway from 2022 to 23 under the Agency for Cultural Affairs' Overseas Study Program for Emerging Artists. With an interest in the relationship between cetaceans and people and the folk culture of the sea, he writes and creates embroidery works based on his field work around the world. He continues to try to collect memories and narratives of people around the sea and reweave them with thread and words. He recently wrote (ELVIS PRESS, 2025) and recently participated in exhibitions including the International Art Festival 'Aichi 2025.'.

Speaker Profile
Since becoming an assistant at the Institute for Research in Humanities at Kyoto University in 2003, he has been involved in historical research on food and agriculture after working at the University of Tokyo. The book reexamines the activities of people eating, growing and decomposing in the context of modern history. He received the Kawai Hayao Curatorial Award for (Republic of Korea, 2016), the Tsuji Shizuo Food Culture Award for (Iwanami Shinsho, 2018) and the Suntory Curatorial Award for (Seidosha, 2019). He also received the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Prize and the Yasushi Inoue Memorial Culture Prize for his overall research. His major literary works include (Ikenoru Books, 2022) and (published by Katabami Shobo, 2025).
