Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture Arts Council Tokyo To increase opportunities for performing arts appreciation in Tokyo, we will subsidize part of the expenses related to performances for performing arts activities planned by established organizations, ranging from mid-career to veteran, that combine high feasibility and quality. Starting this year, we will renew the recruitment process and offer applications in two categories. Category I (maximum grant of 1 million yen) supports performance activities by small and medium-sized organizations that play a core role in providing diverse performance opportunities, while Category II (maximum grant of 2 million yen) supports performances with large attendance, which play a central role in providing opportunities with ripple effects.
Out of 271 projects submitted during the first phase of the 2026 fiscal year (April 23 ~ May 14, 2026), a total of 103 projects (total grant decision amount: 120,076 thousand yen) have been selected from among the 271 projects submitted during the first public application period (April 23, 2026 ~ May 14, 2026).
The second round of applications is scheduled to begin in early September, and the eligible grant period is December 20, 2026 ~ December 19, 2027.
