This program of improvisational battles showcasing competing dance skills, powers of expression, and originality gives an up-close experience of the power of street dance.
The Latin word “competare” means to “struggle and grow together.”
This is a battle in which dance is seen as a form of communication, and which conveys the importance of both competition and play to the next generation of dancers.
After a preliminary round of party and circle battles, the winner is decided in the final-round tournament of 16 competitors.
In addition, each judge will pick one person from the best 8 dancers in the preliminary round to engage in a dance session with the judges.
