Outline

“SHUJI TERAYAMA VERSION OF LYSISTRATA – EROS IN WONDERLAND” was written by Shuji Terayama for the Shiki Theater Company in 1965 at the request of Keita Asari based on Aristopanes’s comedy ” LYSISTRATA” but it was a fantastic play that ended without being performed at the time. The production is directed by Kae Inaba, a young talented director who won the Excellence Award in the Director’s Division of the 30th Yomiuri Theatre Grand Prix. The music is by Mugi Furukawa. He has written more than 30 songs.
The cast includes Izumi Matsuoka of Bungakuza as Helene, the leader of the women of Athens who have gathered to stop the war, and Hikaru Asami as Narcissus, the guide of the story.
Also in the cast are some of today’s rising young actors, including Kotone Hanase, Ao Watanabe, and Naho Yokomizo.
In addition, Yuichi Harada plays the male chorus leader Pericles, Akiyoshi Utsumi plays the warrior Camillus, and Marie plays the Spartan Rampitoh.
