“The 1st Kanze school drum duties society-Kanze Motonori tsuizo-“ is a Noh performance project organized by the Kanze school drum duties society.
This performance was held on the 7th anniversary of Motonori Kanze’s death, and to commemorate him as the 17th head of the school. Another aim of the performance was to raise awareness of Kanze school traditions through the premiere performance by Kanze’s eldest daughter Yuiko Kanze in the Noh classic “Dojoji.” The program also featured Kiyokazu Kanze, Tetsunojo Kanze, Souemon Komparu, and Mansai Nomura and many other Kanze school drummers from all over the country, and included It-cho and Ren-cho single drum and group drum performances, showcasing the characteristics of a production organized by taiko drummers.

This organization was established in 1965 by Motonobu Kanze, the 16th head of the school, with the aim of preserving the traditions of Noh Kanze school drums and passing them on to the next generation. The organization works to pass down the Kanze school drum tradition and promote and propagate Noh in the Tokyo, Kyoto, Hokuriku, Nagoya, and Kyushu regions.
