Dance piece of approximately 70 minutes.
Inspired by Svetlana Alexievich’s (2015 Nobel Laureate in Literature) ‘Chernobyl Prayer – A Story of the Future’.
As the text is read out, six dancers, male and female, dance nonchalantly, and the innocence and stupidity of mankind, and the resilience and preciousness of life, emerge.
The piece was first performed at the Theatre Tram in 2016, and has been performed again at the Toyohashi Arts Theatre, Kyoto University of Arts and other venues.
It was highly acclaimed as a rare work that delicately and patiently captures the aspects of contemporary life and human existence amidst various conflicts such as warfare and disasters. This time, the English text was read out as an overseas version, and the work was further refined and reconstructed.
