Showcasing more than 200 works by 17 legendary humanist photographers active in the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania from the 1960s to the 1990s, this exhibition focuses on the importance of everyday human life, freedom of expression, and the societal role of art. On display are works by leading artists such as Kalju Suur, who was awarded a distinction by The International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP); Zenta Dzividzinska, the pioneer of feminism in the Baltic countries; and Algirdas Šeškus, who has taken part in documenta and other international art festivals. The exhibition period will also see the launch of the AR app “The Baltic Way” as well as a charity auction in aid of Ukrainian refugees. See the force, grace, and complexity of life through the photographer’s perspective as you experience this collection of raw and candid portrayals of people living in the Baltic states during the Soviet regime.
