The “JUNGLE FESTIVAL 2024” was a 20th-anniversary event organized by GOMA & The Jungle Rhythm Section, held at Kanda Myojin Hall. Tickets were sold out, and the performance featured GOMA (didgeridoo), Kyoichi Shiino (drums), Kenta Tajika (percussion), and Kosuke Tsuji (percussion), with special guests Daisuke Ichihara (trumpet) and Naofumi Takimoto (trombone). A new arrangement with a horn section was showcased. VJ Micche enhanced the atmosphere with visual effects using GOMA’s artwork. Additionally, a 2m x 2m painting of the “Phoenix,” inspired by Kanda Myojin, was exhibited in the lobby, captivating attendees.
GOMA
GOMA is a Japanese artist widely recognized as a leading figure in didgeridoo performance. In 2009, he suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident but resumed his activities after rehabilitation. He gained attention by composing the entrance music for the “Hikaru Truck” at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Currently, he leads GOMA & The Jungle Rhythm Section, continuously exploring the fusion of music and art.
