This is a performance and CD production project of Ensemble AYA, a unit of young shakuhachi players from Tokyo University of the Arts. In pursuit of a “new form of shakuhachi ensemble,” the ensemble did not rely on the existing repertoire, but employed original works by young composers and arrangers such as Wataru Mukai, Kento Ishikawa, and Minami Nagai, with the concept of a highly precise ensemble. These attempts are intended to expand the possibilities of the shakuhachi ensemble and further develop its content.
