Outline

This program featured a collection of cutting-edge feature-length works and experimental short documentaries which have garnered attention at film festivals around the world. Screenings comprised six programs entitled “Corporate Accountability,” “A Magical Substance Flows Into Me,” “Under A Blue Sky,” “Performative DOC: Body Memories,” “A FACTORY OF NEW DOCUMENTARY FORMS: A Light Cone Carte Blanche,” and “Season in Quincy: Four Portraits of John BERGER.” In addition to the screenings, the event offered a talk session aimed at comprehensively conveying the intentions of this project and the themes of each work to audiences. The talk featured “Corporate Accountability” filmmaker Jonathan Perel, curator Elysa Wendi, curator Emmanuel Lefrant, and Kim Sungwon, the distributor of “Season in Quincy: Four Portraits of John BERGER.”

Image Forum
Image Forum’s predecessor “Underground Film Center” was established in 1971, with the organization changing its name to “Image Forum” in 1977. It began cinematheque activities in 1972, screening mainly experimental and independent films. It went on to engage in film distribution, establishing the Image Forum Institute of Moving Image in 1977 to cultivate and train video artists. The ongoing Image Forum Festival was launched in 1987.
