Outline

Awamori, which has been brewed since the time of the Ryukyu Kingdom, almost disappeared due to the intense U.S. military attacks during World War II. This work intertwines the revival of Awamori with Okinawa’s enduring spirit of love and appreciation for the drink, and a yearning for peace.

【Rinkogun】
Founded in 1982, the theater company Rinkogun has been energetically continuing its activities, with its plays mainly written by the artistic director Yoji Sakate, who has led the group since its inception. Each of their productions features innovative and experimental approaches, as well as sharp social perspectives that deeply explore human conflicts and the relationship between individuals and society. The company also makes use of diverse stage designs and technical elements, aiming to provide a unique theatrical experience with each new production. In addition to domestic performances, Rinkogun actively engages in regional and international tours, and its theatrical work has been highly praised both in Japan and abroad.
