“Trolls in the Park” is an international outdoor contemporary art exhibition that started in 2002 in Suginami-ku’s Zenpukuji Park. Since 2013, the exhibiting area has been expanded to the area around JR Nishi-Ogikubo Station, offering arts in diverse forms such as performances in renovated cafes or natural food restaurants, and projects designed to uncover the charms of local neighborhoods. This year marks the 23rd year of the exhibition. For three weeks in November, the event will provide an opportunity to come into contact with accessible, everyday art.
【Trolls in the Park Organizing Committee】
Trolls in the Park Organizing Committee is formed by artists who are participating to the exhibition, representatives from local galleries, activity organizations, local elementary schools, related supporting organizations and more. The committee aims to provide opportunities for artists, promote a deeper understanding of art to local residents, get children and younger generations more interested in art and expression, create new local networks through contemporary art, energize the community through different projects and pursue other endeavors.
