In response to the recognition of “breakdance” as an official sport from the Paris Olympics 2024,
We organized a dance event “FREQUENCY JAPAN 2024″ that is collaboration with Japan and France in 2024 as Olympics was held.
Under the theme of Art x Sports x Education, world-class dancers from France and Japan were invited to participate in dance battles, workshops, and talk shows in “breakdance” and “electro dance”.
First, a talk show on “breakdance” was held at the Institut Franco-Japonais de Tokyo on Friday, September 13th.
Two of guest speakers of talk show were worldwide break dancers Sweet and Madmax from overseas, and one of guest speaker was Japanese dancer KATSU ONE who is a breakdance coach representing Japan of the Paris Olympics 2024, and they had cross talk session.
On Saturday, September 14th, a dance battle of “breakdance”and “electro dance” was held at Shimokitazawa ADRIFT.
The main event was dance battle and additionally, there was a dance show by guest dancers and a live stage performance by Maika Loubté. The winner of the dance battle was awarded 100,000 yen and a pair of shoes from LACOSTE.
In the end, dance workshops by professional dancers from Japan and abroad were held at the Japan Women’s College of Physical Education on the Sunday, September 15th.
Three break dancers, Ayu, MadMax, and Sweet, and two electro dancers, Miel and Nass, they worked as the lecture.

Our purpose is to deepen international cultural exchange between Japan and France and to enliven the dance and art scenes in both countries by planning, organizing, and implementing a dance event “FREQUENCY JAPAN,” in which Japan and France will collaborate. Furthermore, in addition to organizing the event, we will support to dancers and artists in Japan and abroad through various network. Connecting people through dance and art, we will provide opportunities for new collaborations and experiences.
