Our goal for many years has been to adapt foreign children’s literature to the stage so that children living in Japan can have an opportunity to encounter the wider world. As the first in this project series, we will be adapting Annabelle Pitcher’s masterpiece and Brownford Bowes Award-winning work “Goodbye, Spider-Man.” The production was directed by Chobi Natsuki, who studied abroad in Canada for a year under the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Overseas Training Program for Emerging Artists in 2013.

【OFFICE SHIKA Inc】
“Office Shika” was established in September 2010 to manage and produce theater productions. In January 2014, with the performance of OFFICE SHIKA × Cocco’s “Jiruze no Jijou” (starring Cocco), the company began creating a new form of production called “OFFICE SHIKA PRODUCE,” which separates itself from the theater troupe’s regular performances. This format aims to create bold and innovative works that align with current themes by forming different production companies for each project.
Since then, with a diverse range of guests such as Tori Hideki, Megumi Okina, Mitsuru Matsuoka (SOPHIA), Gota Watanabe, and Rin Okabe, the company has presented 1 to 2 new plays annually, approaching theatrical creation in various forms.
