Taro Aikawa and Wormhole Project reworked and staged this original musical, first performed in 1994. The story begins in the 1950s when the student movement was rife. Although the script contains numerous scenes depicting the social conditions of each period in question, the production does away with the era-specific in terms of visual markers such as stage setting, costume, hair and makeup, and props. Even junior high and high school students, a generation whose only knowledge about this era comes from textbooks, acclaimed the musical as “our story.”
