Profile

Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra
In August of last year, the Planning Council decided on activities for the next five years under the mission of “leading the world’s brass bands”, one of the missions of the orchestra, which will restart as a general incorporated association in the fiscal year 2022. In the midst of these activities, the members of the planning committee, including Takeshi Oi, who will assume the position of permanent conductor in April 2024, decided to perform Maslanka’s (1943-2017) complete symphonic works for wind band (not including orchestral works) in a multi-year cycle. This is a landmark project not only in the field of brass band music in Japan, but also in the world. We will continue to lead the brass band music in Japan based on the scale and difficulty of the works and the recognition that it will widely propagate the excellence of modern brass band music.
