Through a music event created together by artists and staff active both domestically and internationally, island residents, and all participants, we promoted the charm of Ogasawara. The event included workshops led by musicians and backstage technicians, cultural exchanges, and learning the island’s ancient songs together. At the same time, participants experienced reducing environmental impact in an enjoyable way, promoting sustainability actions while contributing to the promotion of local culture. OGASAWARA DREAM SESSION, ONE VISION (Masaki Ohtawa, Takeru Matsushita), Yohei Miyake, Sho Akasu, Uwanosuke Soragorou with Ryo Sado, Tsukasa Suzuki etc.
BONIN ISLAND JAZZ Executive Committee
A voluntary organization comprised of volunteers from both inside and outside the Ogasawara Islands. With the cooperation of professional technicians, it organizes events. Starting with the “Thank You! Ogasawara Maru & Hahajima Maru” campaign’s “ISLAND JAZZ @ THE EARTH in Ogasawara 2016”, the organization has continued to host events, including the 50th Anniversary of Ogasawara Islands Reversion in 2018’s “Ogasawara Music Festival”, and in January 2023, held “BONIN ISLAND JAZZ 2023 Winter”, while implementing COVID-19 measures. Over the past eight years, seven events have been held continuously.
