Profile

【Tokyo Chutei Iki】
A pure baritone saxophone band formed in early 2000, led by Akira Mizutani. Starting with an appearance at the EFG London Jazz Festival (UK) in 2006, the band has been invited to perform at the North Sea Jazz Festival (Netherlands) and the Montreal International Jazz Festival (Canada), and is now an indispensable and popular part of the world’s big jazz festivals. In ‘14, they toured Belgium to celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of saxophone inventor Adolphe Saxe, and in ’18 they performed in Spain, and are active at home and abroad.
