A new production of “At the Hawk’s Well”, originally composed by the Irish poet and Nobel Prize winner W.B. Yeats, has been created through a collaboration between Noh players including Gensho Umewaka (designated as a Living National Treasure) and the Irish Celtic chorus ensemble Anuna. Through this production, we will re-examine the influence of Japanese Noh on art throughout the world over a 100-year period, and broadly advertise Noh’s impact both in Japan and overseas.
