Art Support Tohoku-Tokyo Talk Session #2

The art of intertwining memories of the land — practices from the ocean and forests of Tohoku

Genre:
  • Lecture / Symposium

Matsushima Bay in Miyagi Prefecture and Fukushima Prefecture’s Aizu region.
This talk session welcomes as its guests experienced practitioners with unique methods of exploring and handing down memories of these lands, which are surrounded by ocean and forests, and abundant in nature.
The word “art” is said to be derived from the Latin “ars” meaning skill or method. In this talk session, we focus on art as a means of approaching your own community. Guests and audience contemplate practices going forward as they share their efforts and initiatives.
