TACT/FESTIVAL 2014
Camille Boitel "L'immédiat"

“Nouveau Cirque (Contemporary circus)” is a style of entertainment that first became popular in France. Winner of the Grand Prix at the MIMOS International Mime Festival, “L’immédiat” makes its long-awaited first visit to Japan.

A junkyard, a darkened stage piled high with bric-a-brac. Everything is falling apart if the performers touch it, and things come falling unexpectedly out of the air. Furniture topples, walls crumble, pages fall out of books; even the flowers are withered. Taking no notice of these events, the six seemingly listless performers for whom nothing seems destined to go right proceed boldly through this environment in a riveting display of superb acrobatics. A very strenuous comic skit, or perhaps slapstick comedy, it is a revelation hinting at life beyond our control.
In deadly earnest, Camille Boitel and his five fellow performers present an amazingly hilarious performance of manic acrobatic excitement.
