A workshop for sharing the process of creating the stage production “Breathe Move Don’t Be Silent” in which deaf people and hearing people encounter each other
“Breathe Move Don’t Be Silent” is the story of a fictional world in which a “city of deaf people” exists separately from a “city of hearing people.”
The “city of deaf people, which frequently changes location, has evolved to adapt to the physicality and language of deaf people.
The “city of hearing people” has developed on the premise of the ability to hear sounds in an extremely crowded environment, where the population is becoming increasingly concentrated, and 100 million people live in a single city.
What are they like, these two cities forming the basis of this work’s view of the world?
Together with members of the creative team behind the production, we will hold a workshop in which we unleash our imagination about these two cities, using pointers from our real lives and the real city.
Deaf people, people with hearing impairments, and hearing people are all welcome to join.
