What we do

Art Access Adachi: Downtown Senju - Connecting Through Sound Art

Set in Senju area in Adachi, Tokyo, this art project is a community participatory event with “sounds” as theme. Adachi City, the Tokyo Culture Creation Project Office and the Tokyo University of the Arts cooperate with local artistic and cultural groups and NPOs in the community for the purpose of establishing regional culture and facilitating creative expression through arts.

It aims for interaction and formation of a new local culture while connecting different links between people and people, people and places, people and arts to create and to promote the charm of Adachi city where we still find a trace of flourished town as one of Edo-shijuku in Edo era by maximizing the local resources of the city filled with an old down town atmosphere. In 2012, the project appears as larger movement as the art project in great moment of the Adachi City 80th anniversary with the approach in 2011.

Program

Utilizing local resources (people, places, things) in Adachi City, “Machinaka Art Project” under the theme of sounds will be held.
