Outline

“Trolls in the Park,” now in its 15th year, is an international contemporary art exhibition that uses the area between JR Nishiogikubo Station and Zenpukuji Park as its main stage. The open-air exhibition at Zenpukuji Park will give visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy artwork exhibits, performances, and more as they take in the ambience of the changing seasons, while the art program around Nishi-Ogikubo will bring together a diverse mix of programs to make strolling through “Nishiogi”—a high-profile hotspot on the urban Tokyo landscape—an even more captivating experience.

[Exhibition]
“Adventurous Momoshi Trolls” (street-corner art), works created by foreign artists during their stays in the Artist in Residence program, and works by the Joshibi University of Art and Design Sculpture Group (exhibited at the cafe), etc.
[Performances]
Performance dances by Yoshimichi Takei and Primal Type, etc. (at a pool hall)
[Events]
“Nishiogi underdrain walk” (led by Nama Yoshimura and others) and “EVERYTHING 0 YEN – Zenpukuji Shopping Arcade (where visitors can buy and sell unwanted items for 0 yen), etc.

Trolls in the Park Organizing Committee
The Trolls in the Park Organizing Committee is an organization of participating artists and representatives from local galleries, activity groups, elementary schools, supporting organizations, and more. The Committee aims to provide opportunities for presenting contemporary art, promote a deeper understanding of art by local residents, etc., get children and younger generations more interested in art and expression, create new local networks through contemporary art, energize the community through different projects, and pursue other endeavors.
