ProjectOH!YAMA
Dance troupe formed in 2006 comprising graduates of the Dance and Dance Education BA course at Ochanomizu University, and led by Furuie. In 2007 the troupe was selected to take part in Japan Contemporary Dance Network’s “We’re Gonna Go Dancing!! Vol. 8.” In 2009 it received the Jury Prize at Yokohama Dance Collection R, and in the same year was invited to L’ExpérienceJaponaise 2009 – Nîmes Biennale (France). In 2010 the widely-acclaimed troupe won the Next Generation Choreographer Award at the Toyota Choreography Award competition. In other areas too, the troupe has attracted attention for its sophisticated dance techniques and the compositional prowess of its own works. TV work includes choreography for and performances in NHK’s “Mayonaka no Keizaigaku” (“Midnight Economics”) and “Miitsuketa!”(“Find it out!”). Events include appearances at Roppongi Art Night in 2013 and 2014. For the theater, the troupe choreographed and performed in “The Glass Menagerie” directed by KeishiNagatsuka.
