Outline

Two years since beginning in 2013, from 2015 onwards the Ryogoku Art Festival program of concerts and related events will be held every summer, centering around August.

Profile

Satoko Inoue: Artistic director (concerts)

Alumna of Tokyo Gakugei University music composition course. Member of Musica Practica Ensemble from 1986-1991. From 1991 she has held 21 solo recitals and performed 120 works including Satoko Plays Japan. Other recitals include Works of John Cage (Yokohama), Works of Morton Feldman, Shin Nittetsu Concert, Luc Ferrari Piano works (Tokyo), 21.1th century’s concerts – our music (Kyoto), The fantastic world of Henry Cowell and Giacinto Scelsi , “Sen no Ongaku” and “Katachi no Ongaku” – Jo Kondo and Mieko Shiomi (Kobe). Recipient of the 10th Keizo Saji Prize (Suntory Music Foundation). Currently professor at Kunitachi College of Music.
