Outline

This is a new performance by OrganWorks, a contemporary dance company launched in 2008.
As a part of the 2014 Shakespeare Festival, hosted by Owl Spot, the work focuses on Shakespeare himself and the age he lived. This work also portrays social aspect by juxtaposing British society in the 18th Century to modern Japanese society.
The performance features Shintaro Hirahara, the director and choreographer of OrganWorks, who has performed in a wide range of fields in and out of Japan since he left Noism, and Ruri Mitoh, who has won many awards in domestic and international competitions, and other dancers who actively perform domestically and overseas, including Yasushi Shoji, Taeko Machida, and Ippei Shiba, etc.

Profile

Shintaro Hirahra
Since he launched his career as a freelance dancer and choreographer in 2007, Hirahara has created and appeared in many dance performances and engaged in theatrical performances.
In addition to solo performances, he appears in performances by dance companies such as Condors, C/Ompany, and Shun Project. He also stages and choreographs for Theater Ikiume as well as Kentaro Kobayashi, and has an appearance in Miu Sakamoto’s music video. He also invited a fellow dancer and friend, Carmen Werner of Spain, to perform in Japan.
In 2011, Hirahara received the Best Choreography Award at the Korean International Modern Dance Competition; in 2013, he participated in a training program in Spain under the Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists offered by the Agency for Cultural Affairs.
